Love Our Enemies

“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you and do good to those who hate you,”

“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you and do good to those who hate you,” (Matthew 5:44), Jesus said. Indeed, it is easy to love one who loves in return. But if there’s no test of character, we won’t have anything to learn at all. The real lesson in life comes when we follow God’s call to forgive the most unforgivable, forget the most unforgettable and to love those who would rather see us take a fall.

Rejoice with God

Let us rejoice with God.

God always wanted to paint our lives with joy. Indeed, God takes delight when we rejoice in all that he has done; and when we see the love of Christ, our joy has just begun. Though God takes sins seriously, He is also the one who abundantly pardons and provides for every need. Let’s remember this: He is not a killjoy!

Breaking Free from Guilt

God is merciful to all those who seek His forgiveness.
When God forgives, it’s time for us to forget. Let us not let guilt or hatred take the better of us. So what do we do if sin has its icy hands on our heart? What do we do if guilt strangles us from joy and make us forget that God’s forgiveness is not based on what we do but on what Christ has done for us? Let’s ask for His forgiveness. Then, let’s thank Him for it and moment by moment remind ourselves of the wonders of His saving grace. As it was written on Hebrews 8:12, “I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins… I will remember no more.”

Bad Gifts

Beware of false teachers

Not all gifts are free; some have hidden price tags. Apostle Peter said, “There will be falls teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord” (2 Peter 2:1). That is why, we ought to study the Scriptures to test what we hear and grow in the faith. That way, we won’t discover that our spiritual life hasn’t been ransacked.

Prayer is not asking. It is a daily admission of one's weakness - Mahatma Gandhi

Prayer keeps us humble, on our knees. Prayer makes us feel that we are not all-powerful, all-knowing.

Overconfidence: This is going to end in disaster and you have no one to blame but yourself.

Overconfidence won't take you anywhere else.

Humility: the true and everlasting strength of mankind is found in submission to the will of God.

Humility, a strange thing. The minute you think you've got it, you've lost it.

On Humility

Be clothes with humility

No garment is more becoming to a child of God than the cloak of humility. Apostle Peter said, “Be clothed with humility,” (1 Peter 5:5), as so, as God’s servant, we should be known for humility. We should about other people’s accomplishments and focus on serving others.

I wonder....

It's all about good ol' past.
The past few days, I've been looking back on the most special memories I've had in the years gone by. I don't know if grandma's 82nd birthday had it's nostalgic effect on me, or what, but as I lay on my bed before I take a nap or at night before I sleep, while on the bus, or even while working, random thoughts of high school memories and college years would find their way to my head... And you know, it leaves me smiling to look back on the good old days I've had. Good old days I've spent with my good old friends and cousins and family. I wonder where they are right now. I wonder what's going on in their lives. I wonder if, I like me, did the random thooughts of happy past ever visited their minds?
