Happy Easter!

randolph623.wordpress.com

Easter has come and the time to rejoice in the resurrection of Christ is more profound now than ever. After His suffering and death in the cross to redeem us from our sin, He has returned after the promise of rising from the dead three days after. May the death of Christ which redeemed us from sin and His resurrection be forevermore a reminder of God's great love for us, a love that lead Him to send his only begotten son not to punish or condemn us but to bring us forgiveness and enternal life. With this, let us ponder with this passage, "Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also  should walk in the newness of life" (Romans 6:4).

Everyday, God gives us the opportunity for a new life. We may have sinned yesterday, we may have committed something that offended the Lord. But through prayer and through Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven and forgiven. God is not a human to behold grudge but a Father that forgives a child who repents and comes back to Him. The Holy Week has been a time of repentance and seeking God's forgiveness. The Easter meanwhile is a symbol that God has forgiven us all ready and His welcoming arms await us when we reach our home in heaven.

God Bless You, You are Lucky!

I’d rather not say good luck to someone. But when giving out my blessings, I am used to saying “God bless you,” instead.

Luck is not founded in faith, blessing is. Good luck is uncertain. It could change in the blink of the eye. In good luck, there is bad luck to oppose. But in blessing, everything is goodness and there is no anticipation for bad luck.

Blessings are founded on faith with God, of something that is certain by the grace of God. Good luck is wholly based on chances, while blessings is wholly based on faith.
Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 shares that the perspective of luck leaves God out of the picture while 2 Chronicles 18 tells of King’s Ahab’s death, letting us know that everything comes not of chances or luck but because of God has destined it to happen.

To end, let us meditate with what Proverbs 16:33 says, “The lot is cast into the lap, but every decision is from the Lord.” Have a blessed Sunday!

A Little Act of Kindness

My client overpaid me $250 and I was tempted not to return the money. But i wasn't raised up that way. I may be born with no silver spoon on my face  but I grew up with the value of honesty and integrity intact, having been raised up by grandparents whose faith in God is as strong as their love for each other.

Knowing the payment wasn't due me, I immediately contacted my employer and told her she overpaid me. She was surprised to learn that because she didn't remember sending me extra $250. But I told her anyway and offered to send a refund in a few minutes. She was very very happy to have learned that and thanked me for that act of kindness.

No matter how financial stranggled I am at the moment, it didn't stop from doing what it right. Similarly, no matter how compromised with are with life, let us not stop it from doing kindness to others. Let us continue to live a life that will benefit others, one that will bring honor to God's name, as what 1 Corinthians 13:6 tells us, "Love does not delight with evil but rejoice with the truth."

To Speak or Not to Speak

source: capitolcolumns.blogspot.com

When should we keep quiet and when should we speak? Herb Vander Lugt said that “sometimes silence is the best response to a false charge. At other times we must speak up.” In Mark 14; 61, Jesus kept silent and answered nothing when the Sanhedrin accused falsely accused him. However, in John 8:13-59, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and challenged them that he sinned.

To speak or not to speak is a matter of thinking of doing what is right and wrong. If you think that there is no use to argue with others or if your pride has been hurt by others, it is best to keep the tongue from wagging. Instead, pray and seek God’s grace to say nothing. But if you think and you feel that justice should be sought for the wrong that others did, then, speak up and say the truth.

Remember, silence is as priceless as a gem. So don’t break it until you can improve it.
