Why You Should Build Your Business Around something that You Love Most: Tips from Martha Stewart

I have always been a Martha Stewart fan, and when I grabbed a copy of her book The Martha Rules: 10 Essentials for Achieving Success As You Start, Build, or Manage a Business, I can’t help but sink myself into it. She writes that if you really wanted to run a successful business, it pays that you build it around what you love doing most. Just take a look at her. She loves keeping houses clean. She loves cooking. She loves gardening. She loves making craft. She loves renovating and decorating old houses. She great at them and she made millions because she monetize what she was most passionate about.

"Build your Business around something that you love--something that is inherently and endlessly interesting to you," she writes.
She continues to write that:

"It is great to love one's work. Doing work that you enjoy gives you energy. You are imbued with enthusiasm. Your senses seem sharper. You wake up with new ideas every day and with solutions to conquer the challenges that cropped up the day before. You are always confident that goals are attainable, that creativity and ingenuity and hard work and passion for the work will make "it" all come together. This "passion" for one's work is just like an all-consuming love-affair--something that all of us crave to experience but encounter only once or twice in a lifetime if we are lucky."

Remember that not all the time you are given the chance for a break. So, don’t miss it. If you’re great in writing and someone offers you a writing gig, don’t waste time. Grab it. Strike the rod while it’s hot. And if you have that passion, do something to keep it burning. Never waste the chance to grow because most likely that chance will never come back again.

Love what you do, do what you love and you’ll be rewarded not only with money, but also with the satisfaction that you have truly done something great in your life. The most successful people do not really gauge their success with how much wealth they’ve accumulated, but how fulfilled they are at the end of the day. So, no matter what you want to venture in, whether it’s designing a website, wedding planning, catering, or selling merchandises online, let that passion keep you going and fuel that passion by breaking barriers day by day.
